AI Engineer

Build AI features in Peak One that give business owners traceable suggestions – with sources, clear limits and a human making the decision.

Why this role exists

At Peak Atlas, AI suggests and people decide. AI statements need traceable sources. To make that more than a principle in Peak One, we need someone who builds AI features so that their output is checkable, measurable and genuinely useful day to day.

Your outcomes

  • AI features whose statements point to traceable sources in the shared data model.
  • Systematic evaluations that check quality before and after changes.
  • Clear boundaries: what the AI suggests and what a person confirms.
  • Deliberate handling of cost, latency and data protection.

Your day and scope

Sharpening use cases with Product and Customer Success, preparing context from the data model, developing prompts and flows, maintaining evaluation sets, analysing failure cases and integrating results into the interface. No customer data in tools that are not approved for it.

Boundaries: You own the quality and delivery of AI features in Peak One. Autonomously acting agents and the general data platform sit mainly with other roles.

Your first 90 days

  1. First 30 days

Understand existing AI features, data sources and quality issues; set up a first evaluation set.

  2. By day 60

Improve or newly ship one AI feature with source references and measurable quality checks.

  3. By day 90

Have established a repeatable process for developing, evaluating and shipping AI features.

What you bring

  • Hands-on experience using language models in real applications.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals.
  • A methodical approach to evaluation and error analysis.
  • A critical stance towards unsupported AI claims.

What you can learn with us

  • Our specific tools and models.
  • Our target customers’ business processes.

When this role is less of a fit

You mainly want to experiment with new models without measuring results, or you think source references for AI statements are optional.

Compensation and conditions

We only commit to compensation, contract type, working hours and location once they are approved. We will tell you all of it concretely in the first call, before you invest time in further steps.

Your application process

  1. Short application

Name, email and your answer to the role's entry question. CV optional.

  2. First call

A personal conversation about the role, conditions and your questions. We cover compensation and location concretely here.

  3. Work sample

An announced, time-boxed task with synthetic data: sketch or build a small AI feature with source references and describe how you would evaluate its quality. No real customer data, no use at Peak Atlas. People assess traceability, evaluation approach and limits.

  4. Decision

A person decides, never an AI. You always get a response.

Your entry question

„How would you check whether an AI summary of a customer in Peak One is correct before a business owner bases a decision on it?“
